       The Steamboat Week is over!
WOW, WOW, WOW, is all I can say!

We started with 3 "BLUEBIRD" Days.  Crystal clear skies, cold crisp snow, perfectly groomed, and it was time to do some cruising!

On Monday, Don lead his group of adventure seekers to another day of "Cat Track" skiing.  Here a Cat track takes the group up to the top of an untouched mountain and you get to ski fresh powder.  Once a gain a good time was had by all!

Tuesday we kicked off with the Snowboard races and the Newcomer Race.  Our snowboarders did well, although the only female racer we had was the trusty Paula Brown.  Thanks PJB for keeping us in the points!  With some fresh newcomers joining us the excitement of new members was contagious.

Tuesday night's TEAAM dinner peaked out at about 117 members in attendance.  One of the largest in a long time.  But the Ore House took great care of us.  President Nathan Green led us through the normal business points, but I think all would agree that the highlight of the night was the "Appreciation Roast" of our good buddy KJ.  It was hilarious, well accepted, and a great display of our love and appreciation for a great guy!

Then we got the snow.  It just kept coming.  Powder everywhere, it was awesome.  We managed to get the races done, but it was like everyone disappeared after the finish line to go find some new powder.  The smiles were contagious !!!

We had a great turnout, over 100 American Airlines TEAAM members and many guests.  NAASF had a total of around 300.
A lot of new faces...that's a good thing.  Some new ringers...that's a great thing. (Hello Norton brothers.)

The Wednesday night theme party brought to you by the letter "P", once again showed the ingenuity of the airline group.  We had Police,  some prisoners, parrots, peacocks, penguins and panda bears.  Some pirates, princesses, pink heads, pigs, and a kind of scary proctologist.  It was all fun, and while we are still missing our Christy Matteson terribly, Cameron came and kept us entertained.

The races were fun and exciting.  American dominated mostly by our shear numbers, but it was all in good fun.  I will try and post some fun pictures to the right, but there were SO many floating around on facebook, it was hard to pick just a few.  Be sure to join the American Airlines Ski & Snowboard Club Facebook page so you can see them all.

Friday saw our first ever "Nordic Training Camp"  Many of our members took this opportunity to learn about the fine art of cross country skiing.  This will make us more competitive at the IASF (International Ski Events) and besides it was a lot of fun.

Telluride is coming up.  It may be a smaller group, but the mountain, the snow, and the venue will make it special.  I hope you can join us.    ED.
