The Meet at Snowbird was a BLAST and we had a great turnout for the "Super B's" that are now the "Killer B's"!!
I was very excited to "recruit" a great friend of mine, Inger Loeser, an International flight attendant at JFK. I figured I would give her some "tips" on racing, since I have been in the program for SEVEN years! She had never raced before, was from New England (ICE), and was Norwegian (Bjorn). She smoked the GS with a 1st place win and after I received a 3rd place, I asked HER for some racing tips.... (tail between my legs)!! The B women landed a 1,3,4,5 (almost sweep) on the podium with Gulcin Gilbert winning a 4th place and Denise Connell a 5th! Great job girls!! Welcome back Gulcin....we've missed you! In the Slalom race, Inger Loeser, once again took a 1st place giving her a combined 1st place overall! We have now given her the name Inger the "Ringer".......sweet! Denise Connell was right on her heals and came in a close 2nd place (and we thought she was a snowboarder).....come on Denise, come over to the "light side" ......just sayin! Gulcin Gilbert also took another award and came in 5th in the slalom!
Our B men added a lot of points to the team. David Piccone, John Quinn, and Scott (Scooter) Hartmann all racked up much needed points, GREAT JOB GUYS!! In the Masters division Jerry Head (great to see you and Gail again!) and Jim Sanders took the PODIUM!
At our previous meet at Northstar I did not have the NAASF results to write about.......We had a good showing considering the snow forecast. The snow was better than we expected as NS did a great job making snow! The B men raced to accumulate lots of points a John Quinns, Matty Greif, Mike Treece, Robert Pearce and Steve (Bib Master) Pozsonyi all did very well....Thank You Boys! Dick Plush took a Masters Award for 1st place in Slalom AND 5th place in GS!! Robert Pearce also took a Masters Award for 3rd place in the GS!! You hotties ROCK!
Mike Treece grabbed a 2nd place award for the GS and brought him straight to the podium.......Great job!
At Northstar we saw Lori Hanson score a 5th place in slalom and I took a 2nd place......not a lot of women present.....we both could have pointed out!! We missed Lori at Snowbird....I hear she is planning a Japan trip!
I sure hope everyone has a fantastic time in Niseko, Japan! We are all looking forward to our last meet in Sun Valley!! Let's have a great turn out in SV and try to win the CUP!!
